Behind the B

Blogger, storyteller, freelance writer, ghost writer, even editor–that’s me.

From the time I was a little girl, I’ve recorded my thoughts, ideas and impressions, not in a “Dear Diary” way but on yellow 8 1/2 x 14 legal pads (yes, I still have them!), eventually graduating to composition notebooks.

Every time I move I swear it’s the last time I’ll lug those ragged, taped up boxes. But how can I part with nearly 50 years of the lining of my soul?

I began the B Here Today blog in May 2010 mostly because I needed a way to categorize my thoughts. Plus, I thought you might relate to some of my zany experiences as a person in long-term recovery from addiction.

Little did I know that a couple of months later I would turn here for solace while I grieved my mother’s death.

My longstanding goal is for my readers to take in the foibles, rants and occasional specks of wisdom because they are my gift to you.

You and I are vastly different in many ways but when it comes to daily things like love and laughter, animals and infants, we’re really suckers at heart.

Mom and me shortly before she died. I am living the dream she held for me.

Mom and me shortly before she died. I am living the dream she held for me.

And so I write.

Along the way, I picked up a few clients, some local, some national. Every single day I get to interact with some of the most brilliant people in the world of addiction prevention and recovery, mindfulness, storytelling, spirituality and living with passion.

I am so blessed and blissfully grateful for every day that my feet hit the floor and my hand reaches for my pen and comp notebook.

I owe you a Texas-sized debt of appreciation for your faithful readership and your desire to work with me.
